One has to wonder if the Israeli Ministry of Defense report documenting and detailing the extent of both ‘legal’ and illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank has not been deliberately leaked to the press considering that the Israeli elections are now less than two weeks away and knowing how supportive Benjamin Netanyahu, likely to be Israel’s next Prime Minister, is of expanding the settlements.
If and when Benjamin Netanyahu does become Israel’s next PM, (more likely to be ‘when’ rather than ‘if’, if the polls are anything to go by) it may well be that one of the first issues he’ll need to tackle will be the issue of the legitimacy of the West Bank settlements. The leaking of the report could be well seen as a move to expedite the issue soon after the elections in order to justify further settlement.
Such a move, together with a fervency that the extreme right-wing Zionist-Likud election win could bring, especially if Netanyahu gets a particularly big win, might then spark an avalanche of claims from ultra-Zionist/Nationalists to expand settlements further into the West Bank and also into the Gaza Strip.
Inevitably there would be a Palestinian backlash which, in turn, would result in demands from the settlers for Palestinians to be transferred to either Jordan, the Sinai in Egypt or to Lebanon.
Netanyahu has made it clear in the past that there will never be any Palestinian sovereign state as far as he is concerned, which leaves only what they have always believed is rightfully theirs in pursuit of a Greater Israel; ultimately the full annexation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip into Israel.

ANOTHER ‘HUMAN SHIELD’ PROPAGANDA MYTH EXPOSED.
The Israeli propaganda machine has been exposed yet again over its accusations that Hamas used Gazans as ‘human shields’.
The Jerusalem Post yesterday published this article which, since it’s short, I have reproduced here in full. It went like this:
Members of a Gaza family whose farm was turned into a "fortress" by Hamas fighters have reported that they were helpless to stop Hamas from using them as human shields.
They told the official Palestinian Authority daily newspaper that for years Hamas had used their property and homes as military installations from which the group would launch rockets into Israel, dig tunnels and store arms. According to the victims, those who tried to object were shot in the legs by Hamas operatives.
Palestinian Media Watch quoted the official Palestinian Authority daily, ‘Al-Hayat al-Jadida’ as reporting on January 27, "The Abd Rabbo family kept quiet while Hamas fighters turned their farm in the Gaza strip into a fortress. Right now they are waiting for the aid promised by the [Hamas] movement after Israel bombed the farm and turned it into ruins."
According to the report, the hill on which the Abd Rabbo family lives overlooks Sderot, making it an ideal military position for Hamas fighters.
The Abd Rabbo family members emphasized to the paper that they were not Hamas activists and that they were still loyal to the Fatah movement, but that they had been unable to prevent the armed squads from entering their neighbourhood at night.
First off, one needs to note that the story originated from the Palestine Authority newspaper, Al-Hayat al-Jadida, essentially a Fatah propaganda rag. The story initially attempts to portray the Abd Rabbo family as ordinary everyday Gazan folk struggling, like everyone else the Gaza, to squeeze a living out of their small farm. It’s not until the end of the article that the illusion of them being an innocent ordinary everyday family caught up in the horrors of war that the reader is told that they don’t support Hamas and that they ‘were still loyal to the Fatah movement’.
Well, people are entitled to support whatever political movement they like and when the time comes they, hopefully, will get the opportunity to cast their vote for the mob they think will best represent them. The Jerusalem Post report infers that the Abd Rabbo family farm was singled out because it overlooked a strategic point in Israel and because the family were loyal to Fatah; and, if that were case, the Abd Rabbo family may have had a legitimate grievance.
But, of course, that’s not the case.
The name Abd Rabbo seemed familiar so a swift search within moments revealed that the family is headed up by none other than Yasser Abd Rabbo who is a little bit more than a simple grass-roots Fatah supporter in the Gaza. It turns out that he is the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and an advisor to West Bank PA President Abbas who has worked tirelessly with the Israelis to thwart Hamas control of the Gaza while cynically complaining to the Israelis about the civilian deaths there.
Rather than being human shields for Hamas, the Abd Rabbo’s were more enemies on the wrong side of the lines but useful for the propaganda cause.
Who would have believed it?

AS NETANYAHU LOOKS FORWARD TO BEING THE NEXT ISRAELI LEADER HE FIRES UP THE IRAN SCAREMONGERING READY FOR WAR.
Just when the world thought it was stepping back from the brink with the success of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, the world now finds itself again facing the prospect of having an aggressive and militarist nation being led by a right-wing nationalist madman intent on creating more living space for those that think they are God’s chosen people at the expense of those they think are inferior. (Gee, haven’t we all heard this stuff before somewhere?!)
The forthcoming elections in Israel, now less than two weeks away, is very likely to see extreme right-wing Zionist Benjamin Netanyahu become Israel’s next Prime Minister and already he is ratcheting up the war talk against Iran. At the World Economic Forum yesterday Netanyahu told his audience that keeping Iran from having nuclear weapons was far more important than the global economic crisis. The fanatical Zionist, who is likely to become the leader of Israel’s most fanatical government ever, then went on to say, ignoring entirely the irony of his own words: “We have never had, since the dawn of the nuclear age, nuclear weapons in the hands of such a fanatical regime”.
In the event of Netanyahu becoming Israel’s next Prime Minister, the world will need to ask not ‘will there be an attack on Iran’ but ‘when will there be an attack on Iran’. Netanyahu is highly unlikely to ask the US for ‘permission’ since he knows that American public opinion does not support US involvement. Netanyahu also knows that President Obama will not endorse an attack against Iran. Netanyahu also knows, however, that, if Israel were to pre-emptively and unilaterally launch an attack against Iran, the US would have no choice but to accept the fact of what Israel has done as fait accompli and join in the war by attacking Iran’s ability to launch retaliatory strikes against Israel.
What Netanyahu is doing at the moment is create a casus belli in preparation for such an attack by accusing Iran of continuing with its nuclear weapons program, despite the fact that there is not a skerrick of evidence to suggest that Iran has any nuclear program other than enriching uranium for use in electricity generation, an activity which Iran is legally entitled to do under international law.
Netanyahu has been emboldened by a recent fearmongering report from the neoconservative Mark Fitzpatrick of the International Institute for Strategic Studies who has said that Iran will soon have enough material for a bomb. In fact, what Fitzpatrick has said when one reads the detail instead of just the headlines is; Iran will have enough low enriched material which, if it were enriched further, may be enough to build a bomb. It is hoped that people don’t know how much more effort it takes for that low enriched material to be enriched to the level needed for weapons.
Netanyahu and the Zionists of Israel’s real agenda is simple: regime change in Iran so that supplies of arms and money to Hezbollah, Syria and Hamas can be stopped. In this way Hezbollah and Hamas resistance to Israel will collapse and Israel can then create its Greater Israel dream of incorporating the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and hopefully even south Lebanon, protected by Hezbollah, up to the important Litani River.
The world is really in no better a position this side of Obama’s inauguration than it was before; indeed, if anything, if Netanyahu succeeds in becoming Israel’s next Prime Minister, it could well be worse than ever it was before.

AUSTRALIAN 'JOURNALIST', PIERS AKERMAN OF THE MURDOCH PRESS, WRITES THE ULTIMATE PIECE OF HYPOCRISY.
“Freedom of speech and a free press are among the freedoms we take for granted in Australia. To those unfortunate enough to live in other nations, principally those outside the West, such freedoms are as rare as clean water”, writes extreme right-wing, Islamophobic, racist neocon and Murdoch press blogger, Piers Akerman.
Well, apparently even inside the West it’s also as rare as water, clean or otherwise, especially in the Murdoch press and particularly in Akerman’s own blog.
Several times over the past few weeks I have tried to post comments at his blog only to have them not published. None of them used bad language. None of them were insulting, or even inferred insult, against either Akerman or his band of right-wing bloggies. They were blunt and direct but nonetheless truthful and bona fide comments that generally revealed Akerman or his bloggies comments to be hogwash or simply proved Akerman or his bloggies to be wrong or just downright lies.
When I saw that Akerman had published his piece about ‘freedom of the press’, I wondered how he would react if I posted a comment about his utter hypocrisy. I sent this off for publication to test his sincerity.
“What an appalling hypocrite you are Akerman!
How many of my posts have you refused to publish because they exposed your extreme right-wing propaganda for what it is, yet you have the temerity to write about the 'freedom of the press' just because one of your fellow propagandists got booted out of Fiji?
You have soared to new heights in hypocrisy.
Of course, the real test will be in whether or not this gets published.”
Well, the test of his sincerity was a forgone conclusion; he hasn’t published it yet! So much for freedom of speech. Of course the Murdoch press continues to have full freedoms – including the freedom to print only what suits their agenda which apparently includes hypocrisy.
I personally make no bones about practising censorship at my own blog. I’ll not have right-wing Islamophobic and fascist propagandists peddling their sick garbage here but then I don’t pretend to run a freedom of speech blog when in fact it’s plainly not. It’s the abuse of freedom of speech by the right-wing loons of this world, such as Akerman and others in the Murdoch press, which has been the cause of so many of its problems.
UPDATE
Since posting the above, Akerman has published my comment at his blog. His response was childishly predictable and designed to deflect from the reality of his hypocrisy: “The only thing you’ve ever exposed is your stupidity”, he says, and in so doing exposes his hypocrisy further.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS REMAIN ABOUT MISSING, POSSIBLY EXECUTED, GAZANS
A report in Ha’aretz today notes that during their recent onslaught into the Gaza that the Israelis had captured some 20 Hamas fighters. However, Palestinian families in the Gaza have asked the International Red Cross (IRC) to locate some 115 Palestinians that went missing during the Israeli invasion.
During the carnage, Qaddoura Fears, head of the Palestine Prisoners Society, had expressed fears that Palestinian prisoners were being executed after being captured. With the discrepancy between the number of Palestinians the Israelis say they have captured and the number that the IRC report missing, even assuming that some of those reported missing may be have been lost under rubble that has not yet been cleared, there is still a large number of people that will likely end up being totally unaccounted for even after all the dead have been recovered from the devastation.
As I have mentioned on this blog elsewhere, summararily executing prisoners on the spot just after surrender is one thing even when done spontaneously by young frightened and frustrated soldiers is in itself a heinous crime but to execute prisoners after having been captured, sent back behind the lines and interrogated is a crime that goes all the way to the top of at least the military and more than likely to the politicians as well.
The combination of Qaddoura Fears qualms during the war about the possibility that Palestinian prisoners are being executed and the emergence of the fact that so many Palestinians are unaccounted for should be ringing alarm bells in the ears of those at the UN who are investigating Israeli warcrimes.
These missing Palestinians must be accounted for. Theirs names should be published and anyone knowing anything about their whereabouts should be encouraged to come forward.

ISRAEL FAILS AGAIN TO PROVOKE HEZBOLLAH AND WAR BETWEEN THE U.S. AND IRAN.
It is becoming apparent that the frenzied Israeli attack on the people of the Gaza Strip was designed specifically to inflame Hezbollah and provoke them into a war with Israel; a war that would quickly escalate to involve Iran and the US for the purpose of ultimately bringing about regime change in Iran. Furthermore, this was all supposed to happen before Bush left office when it was hoped that war with Iran would be unavoidable by the time Obama took office.
As well as mercilessly hammering the Palestinian people in the Gaza, which served the purpose of enraging Hezbollah – not to mention the entire Arab street and most of the rest of the world – the Israelis also massed troops on their northern borders with south Lebanon while their warplanes flew low-level missions into Lebanese airspace in a deliberate attempt to further provoke Hezbollah.
A few early model non-lethal Katyusha rockets were launched from just inside Lebanon which Hezbollah denied any knowledge of, and which no other group claimed responsibility for, making it likely to have been a false flag attempt by Israeli special forces to further provoke war. Fortunately, the Israeli special forces endeavours with these captured early model Katyusha rockets proved to be patently transparent even to the Israeli propaganda machine who were content in the end to point the finger at some Lebanese based Palestinian group rather than embarrass themselves by directly blaming Hezbollah, especially after having accused Hezbollah of having now accumulated tens of thousands of sophisticated rockets from Iran. The chances of any Palestinian group unilaterally launching anything from south Lebanon into Israel without Hezbollah’s knowledge is nigh on non-existent.
As the war against the Palestinians in the Gaza went on, Hezbollah refused to bite with any acts of war against Israel. Hezbollah gave moral support to the Gazans, as did the Iranians, but refused to be drawn in to any war. Israel tried to inflame and anger Hezbollah further by stepping up their atrocities in the Gaza striking at UN buildings and schools where civilians and children were known to be but still Hezbollah refused to bite. In the end the Israelis simply ran out of time as literally the last minutes of Bush’s presidency slipped away. And with it went the chances of provoking the Final Confrontation they so desperately seek against Iran – at least that is until Netanyahu gets his shot at it after the Israeli elections next month.

WHO THINKS HISTORY WILL BE KIND TO GEORGE W. BUSH? APPARENTLY ONLY THE EXTREME RIGHT-WING.
As George W. Bush leaves the US Presidency with such accolades as the ‘worst President ever’ there seems to be only Bush’s ever-present right-wing commentators and one or two well-known neocon and Zionist supporting historians who think that history will be kind to him.
Fred Barnes writing for the neocon comic ‘The Weekly Standard’ has been a Bush supporter from day one so it comes as no surprise to read in his latest piece; ‘Bush Got The Big Things Right: History will be kind to forty-third president’, that he’ll be remembered kindly for his battles against al Qaeda which, seven years later, looks like not being anywhere near won, and for ‘bringing democracy to the Middle East’ which, despite the farce of elections in Iraq, is no more a reality today than it was when Israeli Zionists and Zionist Israeli citizens in the Bush administration got the US and its allies to invade and destroy Iraq in 2003.
Meanwhile, at the UK Daily Telegraph, loony neocon ‘historian’ Andrew Roberts pours out the same nonsense as his colleague at the ‘Weekly Standard’.
Condi Rice, who has barely managed to keep from being labelled a neocon herself, could hardly say anything else other than that history will be kind to Bush since she has been a part of that history from the day he became president.
And, of course, Jeb Bush, George’s brother, also thinks history will be kind to the ex-president, in fact he thinks history will be very kind to him.
However, none of the above are real historians. Andrew Roberts likes to think he is, but his work is actually far too subjective to be considered as historically important or significant. So what of real historians? What do they think? Ed Homick at CNN quotes a couple.
Julian Zelizer, a professor of history and public affairs at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School says of Bush: "He is seen as incompetent in terms of how he handled domestic and foreign policy. He is seen as pushing for an agenda to the right of the nation and doing so through executive power that ignored the popular will," he added.
Harvard University political history scholar Barbara Kellerman reckons: “He [Bush] has been a quite unlucky president. Certain things happened on his watch that most people don't have to deal with -- a 9/11, a [Hurricane] Katrina, the financial crisis, being three obvious examples," she said, adding "And yet they happened on his watch. He is being blamed."
The real judges of history are evidence and time. Those of us alive today and who have followed the events of the last eight years, we are witnesses to those things that Bush has presided over and each of us will judge according to what we have seen. But for those that come after us in, say, ninety years time when living memory has all but disappeared; what will those people then think?
Well, the truth of what really happened on 9/11 hopefully may well have emerged by then and that certainly will paint a differently coloured picture of Bush’s history. How soon that truth is revealed will also determine how the history of the Bush presidency is told bearing in mind that the events of 9/11 were the catalyst of much of what has happened in the first decade of the twenty-first century.
And the revelations of the truth of 9/11 will also depend much on how honest historians are going to be with the evidence we already have about the events of 9/11. But, with or without the truth being known about what happened on 9/11, history will not, it seems, be kind to President Bush – at least not if real historians are to tell of it.

SOMETIMES THE ISRAELI PROPAGANDA IS ONLY APPARENT WHEN IT IS POINTED OUT. TAKE THIS EXAMPLE…
There’s a certain arrogance about the Israeli Zionists stance against its enemies. It’s deliberately calculated to smack of self-righteousness and is part of a cleverly devised long-term propaganda ploy designed to demonise those that attempt to resist them.
Take this, for example, which appears in today’s ‘Jerusalem Post’:
“On Monday, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said that renewed weapons smuggling would be legitimate grounds for Israel to renew attacks against Hamas.”
It presumes two things: first, that in this conflict only Israel is allowed to have weapons and, second, that Hamas does not have the right to renew attacks against Israel if it finds that Israel is renewing its weapons arsenal from the US. If Hamas rearming is ‘legitimate grounds’ for Israel to attack them, why is it not, by the same virtue, quite legitimate for Hamas to attack Israel if Israel rearms?
Israel in this same article demonises Iran for supporting Hamas in its struggle against Israeli aggression but ignores entirely the support it receives from the US. The ‘Jerusalem Post’ reports:
“The IDF is concerned that Hamas and Iran will try to smuggle long-range Fajr missiles into the Gaza Strip. Fajr missiles, manufactured in Iran, have a range of 70 km. and if fired from Gaza would easily reach Tel Aviv.”
Never mind that Hamas are concerned that Israel and the US will be bringing GBU-39 bunker buster bombs that can be delivered anywhere that an F-16 can fly. That’s OK, but Hamas having weapons to defend itself with somehow is not.
At then there is this ridiculous piece, again from the ‘Jerusalem Post’ headlined: ‘IDF investigating phosphorous shell use’. It’s a bit like Himmler asking Eichmann to investigate war crimes in the Warsaw Ghetto alleged to have been committed by the SS – pure stupidity.
But it’s all a matter of perceptions.

OLMERT’S DEFEAT IN THE GAZA WILL GUARANTEE VICTORY TO NETANYAHU AT THE ISRAELI ELECTIONS.
Many Israelis do not see the pummelling of the Gaza as a victory for them but simply as business that will need to be finished at some other time despite Olmert’s declaration that Israel ‘has won’ and that Israel’s objectives were ‘obtained in full’.. It is likely that Hamas will emerge from the ruins much stronger and more determined than ever to continue their struggle against Israeli aggression and will likely begin to rearm within just a few months.
Olmert’s failure yet again to destroy what is perceived to be Israel’s enemies will reflect on both the Kadima party led by Tzipi Livni and the Labor party led by Ehud Barak. One would have thought that the Israelis would have learnt their lesson from their failures against Hezbollah in Lebanon in 2006 but it seems the Israelis have made the exact same mistakes in their attacks against the Gazan people. Massive damage to infrastructure does not win wars. The killing of innocent children and civilians does not win wars. Killing a few hundred fighters does not win wars. Committing warcrimes does not win wars. All these things Olmert has now done twice and it has played directly into the hands of the ultra right-wing Zionist Likud party and will guarantee its leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, victory at next months elections in Israel.
A Netanyahu-led Israeli government will take advantage of Olmert’s defeat by declaring Israel’s attempt at destroying Hamas and regaining the Gaza for Israel as unfinished business that Netanyahu will take care of at the first available opportunity after the elections.
In a matter of hours now there will be a new US President and within just a few weeks there will be an Israeli election. The question now is; if Netanyahu wins, which now seems likely, how much support can he expect from President Obama if he does decide to complete unfinished business with Hamas, Hezbollah and, hopefully, Syria and Iran? Will Netanyahu decide to go it alone? He can’t go it alone because he needs to rely on munitions and fuel from the US but he might decide to start out on his own and hope that the US will support Israel once fighting breaks out and it is shown to have been ‘started’ by Israel’s enemies.
Time alone will tell, What can be guaranteed, however, is, if war does break out again it will appear to the world that once again Israel has been the ‘victim’.

THAT U.N. ABSTENTION VOTE: THE LIES ARE FLYING THICK AND FAST
It came as a surprise to many observers when US Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice, abstained from voting at the UN Security Council vote demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza. The Israeli Prime Minster, Ehud Olmert, claims that he personally interrupted President Bush while Bush was giving a speech in order to demand that he order Rice to abstain from voting. However, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack has since denied that Rice was ordered to abstain from voting saying that Rice had all along intended to abstain. This, in turn, is a different story than the one McCormack was telling earlier when he told a press conference last Friday 9 January: “…we fully support the text, the objectives and the goals of that resolution”, and that the “resolution never would have come into being as it was without the efforts of Condoleezza Rice up there”.
The reality is a little more complex. According to Michael Goldfarb, a neocon with his ears pressed firmly to the administration’s ground and writing in the neocon comic ‘The Weekly Standard’, the story went more like this: Cheney had contacted Rice and demanded not so much that she abstain from the vote but to actually veto it which would have killed it stone dead. According to Goldfarb, Rice was set to vote for the resolution and it was the National Security Advisor, Stephen Hadley, who also happens to be one of the few remaining super-neocons in the Bush administration, who suggested the compromise between voting and vetoing, that is; abstaining. Bush took on Hadley’s advice and ordered Rice to abstain. Clearly, Hadley, despite preferring to have vetoed as well, at least had enough sense to realise that US public opinion was unlikely to support a veto.
Readers can make of this what they like but two things show through clearly: One, people at the very top of the government tree are liars no matter what way you look at it, and two, the Zionists once again demonstrate how much power they wield over the US.

IS ISRAEL EXECUTING HAMAS AND PALESTINIAN PRISONERS? WHO IS DOCUMENTING THE ISRAELI WARCRIMES?
Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, secretary-general of the Palestinian National Initiative and Qaddoura Fares, head of the Palestinian Prisoners Society, have recently inferred that Palestinian prisoners taken by the Israelis are being executed after capture during the present invasion. There seems to be many unaccounted for fighters who Mr Fares says “…gives the army the opportunity to execute them, throw their bodies in the streets, and claim that they were killed in during clashes”.
These are very grave accusations and, if true, amount to extremely serious war crimes being perpetrated, not as some spontaneous reaction by frustrated soldiers, which is bad enough in itself if they were being executed summararily immediately after capture, but as an organised and pre-planned deliberate action that was conceived by at least high-ranking officers and could go all the way up to the Prime Minister certainly to Barak the Defence Minister and Gabi Ashkenazi, the head of the Israeli Defence forces.
Other warcrimes include the deliberate shelling of buildings known to contain children and other civilians and the use of phosphorous shells in built up areas known to house civilians. Other crimes are said to include the killing of children and other civilians by Israeli snipers. Snipers are also being accused of deliberately targeting first aid workers and medical personnel while other IDF forces are also accused of deliberately killing aid transport truck drivers. All of these are war crimes.
The problem now is; who is documenting these crimes? If they are not documented quickly, then most of the perpetrators, if not all of them, will get away with their crimes. It is time that the blogosphere itself help to document these crimes by establishing a blogsite which anyone can contribute to and where the data can be stored and sifted through later by qualified investigators. The website must be free and open. Experts can soon determine serious accusations and set aside those that warrant further investigation. Israeli soldiers, airman, tank commanders and others should also be encouraged to proffer evidence and told that most assuredly time will ultimately catch up with their misdeeds and that they will be punished eventually – even if its only by their own conscience.
Expose those that are guilty. Name them now. Note the markings on their tanks, vehicles, aircraft and helicopters. Let them be identified. Note the date. Write down what happened. Tell the world who have died and who have gone missing.

ISRAEL BANS ARAB PARTIES FROM ISRAELI ELECTIONS EXPOSING THE MYTH OF ISRAELI DEMOCRACY.
The Israeli Central Elections Committee yesterday exposed the reality of Zionist racism by banning Israeli Arab political parties from participating in the forthcoming elections on 10 February.
The Israeli nation has for years represented itself as the beacon of democracy in the Middle East setting itself up as a fair and honest state that is a shining example of how other states in the region might be. But it seems that it is all a façade that is now beginning to rapidly crumble as is the state itself.
Rather than the picture it likes to paint of itself as being a tranquil state desperately seeking to survive in a sea of hate and violence, Israel itself seethes with criminal violence and corruption at the very highest levels. Every war that it has fought has been instigated by Zionism and every square metre of dirt that Israel stands on once belonged to someone else yet all we hear about is how hard done by the Israelis are as they try to convince the world that all they want to do is live in peace with their neighbours without mentioning that its actually on their neighbours land that they want to live peacefully on.
Far from being a free democratic nation, its whole existence is slowly being exposed as a fraud. Even Israelis themselves are slowly waking up to their own misdeeds. Yesterday, for example, an IDF soldier refused to go in to the Gaza as a protest against the civilian deaths there. Other soldiers have also refused to go to the Gaza in protest. And now that blatant display of apartheid-style racism exposes the Zionists for what they really are; criminals and Nazis pathetically cowering behind their own victimhood and cynically using the deaths of European Jewry during the last century to excuse and justify state expansionism and the deaths of their enemies.
These Zionist extremists are an insult to the memory of those that perished before them. They are committing the same war crimes in the Gaza in the name of ordinary Israelis that were committed by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto. And, just as the Nazis denied German Jews the right to participate in German politics in the 1930s, now they are denying whole sections of their Arab citizens the right to participate in their already corrupted political process.
Yet Zionist extremists bleat that to compare them with the Nazis is anti-Semitism. The Zionists have debauched the rightful meaning of the anti-Semitism label when it was used quite rightly to describe white-supremacists that simply hated Jews for no other reason than they were Jews. Now, because Zionists abuse the term to attempt to intimidate those that oppose their fascist ways, the term has become devalued and means very little. The term once had its rightful place in history but not any more it doesn’t – thanks to the Zionists.
Democracy? Anti-Semitism? They are fraudulent myths in today’s Zionist Israel.

IS THE THEORY OF THE ‘FINAL CONFRONTATION’ WITH IRAN GOING TO BECOME A REALITY?
I have for over two years now argued through this blog and elsewhere that a great conflict that I have called the Final Confrontation will eventually unleash itself in the Middle East whereby Israeli and US extreme right-wing hawks will manipulate the geo-political situation that exists between the Israelis and the Arabs, particularly the Palestinians, in order to defeat, once and for all, Israel’s enemies; Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and most importantly for them, Iran. Once these enemies are defeated, resistance to Israel’s quest for a Greater Israel consisting of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights and even, so they hope, south Lebanon up to the Litani River, will crumble.
I have also hinted that Israel may be prepared to use, or at least threaten to use, its ultimate weapons in order to achieve their Greater Israel. I have written many articles that predict that Israel will build up to its Final Confrontation with Iran via wars with Iran’s so-called proxies; Hamas, Hezbollah and Syria. I have come to these conclusions by simple virtue of asking myself what I, if I were an extreme right-wing Israeli Zionist, would ultimately want, within the bounds of possibility, for my ideal nation. When I say ‘within the bounds of possibility’ I mean to say a Greater Israel that could actually be feasible today. Forget the ‘Nile to the Euphrates’ dream of the original forbears of Zionism; I mean something that is actually achievable in the twenty-first century.
It must be realised that the talk of a two-state solution is merely a distraction from the Zionists real goals. Do not be fooled. ISRAELI RIGHT-WING ZIONISTS, INCLUDING THE KADIMA PARTY, WILL NEVER ACCEPT THE EXISTENCE OF A PALESTINIAN STATE. NOT EVER.
Over the past sixty years Israel has slowly built itself up as a nation using an unwritten policy of slowly creating and expanding itself by taking three steps forward and two steps back which it has done via a series of provoked wars throughout those sixty years with its various enemies, that is; the people that occupy the lands the Zionists covet and want as part of their dream of a Greater Israel.
Now, however, the pace of Israeli expansionism has been forced to snowball.
In 2001, when George W. Bush became the President of the US, Israelis found themselves with unprecedented power in the White House. Many right-wing Zionist Israeli citizens, using their dual-nationality, became very senior officials in the new US Bush administration. Today that power is almost at an end and the Zionists ambitions have fallen short of their dreams.
Now, however, in the very final days of the Bush administration, Israel has taken it upon itself to defeat Hamas in the Gaza Strip in the hope that the war might quickly escalate to the point where the Final Confrontation is in sight.
It now seems that I am not alone in voicing this kind of scenario. Even the Iranian press has now suggested that this may be what the Israelis are after. The Executive Intelligence Review is reporting that sources in Washington are also predicting a similar scenario.
There is still just over a week left of the Bush regime but, as they say, a week in politics is a very long time and just about anything can happen. And the way things are shaping up in the Middle East at the moment, they probably will.
As always when I write of the Final Confrontation; I really do hope I’m wrong.

GAZA PROTEST IN ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA - PICTURES
The protest in Adelaide on Sunday, 11 January 2009, was organised by the Australian Friends of Palestine Association and was attended by some 2000 protestors who gathered at relatively short notice on the steps of the South Australia State Parliament to hear various State and Federal politicians and other Australian activists denounce the Israeli carnage in the Gaza Strip.
Most noticeably speakers generally berated the Australian Labor government for their silence on the carnage that is being heaped on to the Gazan people and the rally called for an immediate end to the Israeli onslaught.

THE SERIOUSLY TWISTED ALAN DERSHOWITZ CREATES THE ULTIMATE CHUTZPAH.
It looks as if well-known Zionist frothing at the mouth lunatic Alan Dershowitz has been reading my blog again and inverted the reality to suit his own propaganda fantasy.
Dershowitz writes: “This is the Hamas dual strategy: to kill and injure as many Israeli civilians as possible by firing rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilian targets, and to provoke Israel to kill as many Palestinian civilians as possible to garner world sympathy.”
This is classic Dershowitz chutzpah.
The reality goes more like this: ‘This is the Zionists dual strategy: to kill and injure as many Palestinian civilians as possible by indiscriminately bombing and machine-gunning them from helicopter gunships and attack aircraft, and subjecting them to deprivation, and to provoke Palestinians to kill as many Israeli citizens as possible to garner world sympathy.’
If it wasn’t so desperately tragic one might think it was just a sick joke.
But that’s Alan Dershowitz for you.

NEVER MIND THE MYTH OF ‘HUMAN SHIELDS’; ORDINARY ISRAELI CIVILIANS ARE THE ZIONISTS CANNON FODDER.
The Israeli propaganda machine has made much of the lie that Hamas have used Gazans as ‘human shields’ by fighting the Israeli invaders while civilians have been present in the battle zone. The reality is that Palestinian fighters have actually been trying to protect Gazan civilians from being slaughtered by Israeli ground troops and tanks because the whole of the Gaza Strip is a battle zone and civilians have absolutely nowhere to go and are being deliberately targeted.
The myth that Israel does not deliberately target civilians has now been well and truly exposed. The recent shelling and bombing of the UN facility that the Israelis knew was sheltering civilians has exposed to the world who the true war criminals are. Furthermore, while Israel have been accusing Hamas of using their civilians as ‘human shields’, the simple fact is that it is Israel that have been using their civilians as human shields by deliberately putting them in harms way by provoking Hamas to fire rockets and mortars at them in order to provide a casus belli to bomb, invade and occupy the Gaza.
The Israelis deliberately bombed the Gaza on 4 November 2008 killing six Palestinians for no other reason other than to provoke Palestinian fighters to fire rockets and mortars into southern Israel. Israeli politicians and authorities deliberately and knowingly put innocent Israeli citizens at risk so that Israel would have an excuse to invade the Gaza and slaughter the Palestinian people there.
Not content with committing war crimes against their enemies, the Zionists are quite happy to contrive the deliberate deaths of their own people in order to achieve a political and propaganda advantage.
It is time the ordinary Israeli people threw out the monsters that would use them as cannon fodder before they destroy entirely even their own people.

THE LIE OF ISRAELI VICTIMHOOD REVEALED AS IT WAGES WAR AGAINST GAZANS AND PREPARES TO WAGE WAR AGAINST LEBANON.
The pro-Zionist Western press are playing down Israel’s response to yesterdays Katyusha attack launched from south Lebanon against Israel saying that the “relatively low-key response… indicates that Israel has no desire to escalate the situation”. The reality is that ‘Israel has no desire to be seen to escalate the situation’ preferring, as usual, to manipulate the propaganda in such a way as to make it seem as though Israel was attacked without provocation. Indeed, the article in the UKs right-wing and staunchly pro-Zionist ‘Daily Telegraph’ infers that the attack was unexpected and without provocation. However, the article ignores entirely the overflights by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) into Lebanese airspace prior to the Katyusha launchings. Instead the Daily Telegraph refers only to the IAF overflights made after the attacks thus reinforcing the notion that Israel was attacked without provocation. On this occasion the ‘Daily Telegraph’ has been caught out indulging in a deliberate deceit.
Israel’s penchant for assuming the role of ‘victim’ in order to justify actions it takes against its enemies is now well known. Israel is often prepared to expend great energies and even risk its relationship with allies in order to manipulate a situation that is favourable to their interests and in order to always seem to be the innocent and aggrieved party in its conflicts with its Palestinian and Arab neighbours.
Israel’s latest onslaught into the Gaza was justified, according to Israel, because Hamas had broken the ceasefire. This, as the world now knows, is a complete lie. Hamas in fact resumed its ineffectual attacks against Israel in retaliation for Israel’s unprovoked attack against Palestinians in the Gaza which killed six Gazans. In fact, Israel’s taste for instigating violence has now been documented. Research by Nancy Kanwisher, Johannes Haushofer, and Anat Biletzki shows that Israel has been responsible for the vast majority of interruptions in ceasefires or periods of non-violence ever since the present intifada began in September 2000. Indeed, almost 80% of resumptions of violence were initiated by Israel and involved the death or deaths of Palestinians by Israelis in the first instance.
The myth of Israeli victimhood is now exposed. While the peoples of the world are waking up to the reality of Israeli aggression based on false claims, the governments of the peoples of the Western world continue to ignore both the demands of their peoples and the reality of Israeli propaganda and lies.
Meanwhile, whilst the Palestinian people continue to die in the Gaza, Israel prepares to wage war against the people of Lebanon just as soon as the next opportunity arises whereby the Israelis can blame the Lebanese for starting it.
UPDATE
In an assertive statement released by Hezbollah the organisation has categorically denied any involvement with the launching of the Katyusha rockets into Israel yesterday. The question now to be asked is; then who did? If Hezbollah didn’t do it then that leaves either one of the Palestinian refugee factions that are based in Lebanon being responsible or it was simply a false flag attack launched by an Israeli special forces group that had managed to slip into Lebanon for the purpose and, since the launch site was less than two miles from the border with northern Israel, this would not be an unreasonable assumption. As Mike Whitney reports it seems that this is not the first time that Israel has attempted a false flag attack against itself from Lebanon.
The problem with the theory that a Palestinian organisation may have been responsible is that Katyusha’s are a lot more sophisticated, not to mention very bulky, weapon that is both difficult to obtain and difficult to conceal or keep covertly compared with their usual type of light weight weapon of choice; single small rockets and mortars. The Katyusha multi-tube rocket launcher would not generally be the type of weapon that one of the minor resistance groups would use.

IS PHASE TWO OF ISRAEL’S WAR AGENDA, WAR AGAINST HEZBOLLAH, ABOUT TO BEGIN?
It was only a matter of time before Israel had the excuse it needed to escalate the war to include an attack Hezbollah in Lebanon. Earlier today three Katyusha rockets were launched from Lebanon wounding two Israelis in Nahariya in northern Israel. Israeli forces responded with artillery fire.

ISRAEL DEMANDS PALESTINIANS BE DENIED THE MEANS TO DEFEND THEMSELVES. ONLY THE ISRAELIS ARE ALLOWED WMDs IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
One has to wonder how come it’s OK for Israel to openly receive boatloads of jet fuel and munitions as well as attack aircraft and helicopter gunships from the US so that they can use it to create the kind of carnage that is now going on in the Gaza Strip, yet the Gazans are apparently not allowed (at least by the West’s reckoning) to take in anything that can in any way be used to defend themselves against the Israelis.
The Western media make it sound as though Hamas are committing some kind of horrendous crime by obtaining armaments with which to defend themselves from Israeli aggression while the Israelis are openly being given handouts from their allies as though it is heroic that the West should be seen supplying Israel with the means to slaughter the Gazans.
If it is OK for the Israelis to demand at the upcoming ceasefire talks in Egypt that Hamas be disarmed and deprived of the ability to arm themselves then there really should be no reason why Hamas should not make the same demands of the Israelis. Of course, the Israelis aren’t going to let that happen, so, by the same virtue, why should Hamas accede to Israeli demands?
The peoples of the world are demanding that the Israelis cease their attacks immediately and completely withdraw from the Gaza. The governments of the peoples of the world are simply not listening. They are ignoring the carnage and are allowing it to continue by virtue of stalling for time with the bureaucracy of arranging meetings. They are as criminally responsible for the carnage and death as the Israelis are.
The US and the UN must act immediately to end the carnage.
The binational One State solution is the ONLY solution for long-term peace.
UPDATE
Reuters is reporting that Israel is interested in the ‘principle’ of the Egyptian proposals for a ceasefire and will be sending an envoy to discuss how it might be implemented. Reuters added, however, that ‘that may take several days’ and that in the mean time Israel will continue with their operations in the Gaza.
The Gaza cannot afford several more days of carnage while the leaders dither and waste time. The US must insist on an immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza.

RICE REFUSES TO DEMAND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE GIVING ISRAEL MORE TIME TO KILL – JUST LIKE LEBANON, 2006.
Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is trying on exactly the same playing for time game that she played during the Second Lebanon War in 2006; while the world demanded an immediate end to the carnage, Rice delayed calling for an immediate ceasefire in order to allow the Israelis to consolidate their position in south Lebanon. A ceasefire was only called for when it became obvious that Israel was not able to achieve its war aims in the Lebanon.
Exactly the same situation exists now with the war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza where, yet again, Rice has refused to call for an immediate ceasefire in order to give the Israelis more time to consolidate their war aims. Meanwhile, the Israeli carnage of shelling, aerial bombardment and ground offensive continues to kill and maim hundreds more Gazans.
Rice’s ploy is transparent and criminal. The Western leaders of the world must demand an immediate ceasefire. If they do not, then they too are complicit in Israel’s crimes against the Gazan people.

COULD OBAMA’S RECENT COMMENTS ESCALATE PACE OF ISRAELI WAR AGENDA BEFORE INAUGURATION?
President-elect Barack Obama has said that he will have plenty to say about the Gaza crisis after his inauguration on 20 January. One can only speculate what that may be but, in the light of his serious and, no doubt, sincere concerns for the mounting civilian death toll, particularly as details continue to emerge about the horrendous bombing of a UN school and the resultant deaths of school children, it may well be that his view does not correspond with the views of the current Bush administration. The question now is: Will Israeli planners escalate their war to take on Hezbollah and Iran before President Bush and his hawkish administration leaves office.
Obama’s comments were not a positive sign for the Israeli right-wing Zionists. While it is traditional for a President-elect not to interfere in any way with an outgoing President’s foreign policy until after inauguration, Obama’s limited comments will be seen by hawks as ‘passive’ and, therefore, not conducive in providing confidence for the Israelis to rely on US support if the Israelis continue to prosecute or escalate their aggressive war to include Hezbollah or Iran after Obama’s inauguration.
There are now only 13 days left to the end of the Bush administration but a lot can happen between now and then and, if the course of events so dictate, there may be some circumstance where such events have reached a point of no return and Obama finds himself in a position by the time he does become President of having no alternative but to support Israel in its fight against Hezbollah and, especially, Iran.
Israeli warplanes are again flying over Lebanon amid speculation that the Israeli government is deliberately attempting to provoke Hezbollah into providing Israel with a casus belli for Israel to launch an all-out offensive against Hezbollah in the hope that this, in turn, will escalate to involve Syria and Iran. As has already been noted, Israeli reservists have already been called up and are now in readiness at the Lebanese border.
It’s all a matter of timing for the Israelis.

ISRAELI ZIONIST GOVERNMENT PREPARING ISRAEL FOR PHASE TWO OF THEIR FINAL CONFRONTATION: WAR AGAINST HEZBOLLAH.
Israeli Defence Minister, Ehud Barak, has been reported as saying "Our eyes are also on events up north. We are ready, waiting and following all developments”.
In fact, the Israeli government can’t wait for Hezbollah to ‘intervene’. Just the slightest provocation like just one rocket launched from south Lebanon or another ‘kidnapping’ is all the Israeli government needs as an excuse to attack. The head of Military Intelligence, Amos Yadlin, has already told the Israeli cabinet “…that Hezbollah might carry out a limited attack in the north via a Palestinian terror group in response to the Israel Defense Forces ground operation now underway in Gaza”. Reservists have also already been called up ready for service in the north of Israel ready to go into Lebanon – yet again.
However, most analysts agree that Hezbollah are very much aware of Israel’s ploy and are unlikely to do anything to provoke Israel beyond providing moral and vocal support to Hamas and the Gazan people. But that will not stop the Israelis. If Hezbollah will not ‘cooperate’ with Israeli plans then Israel will as likely as not create a false flag situation that will provide them with the necessary casus belli to attack Hezbollah. Israel has a lot form for this practice; the Lavon Affair, USS Liberty, to name just a couple. In attacking the Gaza in the way it has and given that we now know that a massive amount of planning has gone into the operation, Israel is now committed to go all the way. It cannot rest even if it prevails in the Gaza. Israel cannot totally destroy Palestinian resistance and Hamas or some similar organisation will eventually arise from the ashes of Gaza to carry on the fight again.
Israel is committed to destroying Hezbollah as well as Hamas but it can only have its war with Hezbollah if Hezbollah strike first. If Israel does have its war with Hezbollah then their next step, phase three of their Final Confrontation, will be to accuse Iran of supplying Hezbollah with advanced weaponry and asking the US to take action against Iran to stop them interfering with their war against Hezbollah. Without Iran, Israel hopes, Syrian, Hezbollah and Palestinian resistance to Israel will crumble.
Even if people see the scenario outlined above as being ahead of itself, the people of the world must nonetheless stand up now and demand that it stops now before such a scenario becomes a reality or, worse, becomes a scenario that no one dares imagine.

ISRAELI ZIONISTS GUILTY OF DELIBERATELY HAVING ISRAELIS KILLED AND MAIMED TO PROVIDE EXCUSE TO ATTACK GAZA.
Strong circumstantial evidence is slowly emerging into the mainstream media that confirms that, far from Hamas provoking Israel, it has been Israel that has been deliberately provoking Hamas into rocketing and mortaring southern Israel specifically in order to provide a casus belli for Israel to attack the Gaza. In doing so, this makes Israel guilty of using its own people as ‘victims’ for political purposes.
Israel was planning for the Gaza operation even as it was negotiating a ceasefire according to reports in Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz who says that during this period Israel had been carrying out a massive operational deception and have deliberately been misleading the public. It has now come to light that Israel has had a training facility close to Gaza where the army has been training for an operation against the Gaza Strip. This base has been running for some eighteen months. In order to ensure that Hamas provide a casus belli on cue Israel deliberately broke the ceasefire on 4 November 2008 by launching an aerial strike into the Gaza that killed six Palestinians. The Israelis knew that Palestinian fighters would respond by launching rockets and mortars, mostly ineffectually, into Israel.
On top of that, Israel’s long-term policy of provocation by deprivation, as noted by Brian Eno in his piece, Stealing Gaza: An Experiment in Provocation, added fuel to the Gazan peoples frustrations and desperation over their treatment by the Israelis. With a compliant domestic media and a well-controlled Western mainstream media headed up by the likes of Rupert Murdoch’s news empire, the Israelis were able to con the world and their own people into believing that it was Hamas who were to blame entirely for the rockets and mortars that fell on southern Israel.
The fact is this; the Israeli government itself is entirely to blame for what Israeli deaths and destruction has been caused. The Israeli government has deliberately and purposefully manipulated and provoked Hamas to kill, maim and terrorise Israeli citizens specifically for the purpose of providing an excuse to invade and occupy the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Zionist government might just as well have launched the rockets and mortars themselves at their own people.

MAINSTREAM PRESS BEGINNING TO REVEAL WHAT THE GAZA CARNAGE IS REALLY ALL ABOUT
BUT TOO LITTLE AND IS IT TOO LATE?
It seems, at last, that some elements of the mainstream press are slowly beginning to realise that the attack against the Gazan people was much less about Hamas rockets and mortars being launched into Israel and much more about Israel destroying Hamas. Paul McGeough of the Sydney Morning Herald today goes part way in the mainstream press to say what many bloggers and independent journalists have been saying for months, even years, and that is; Israel’s war against the Palestinian people was never about rockets and mortars landing ineffectually on southern Israel from Gaza but about ultimately Israel having the Gaza and the West Bank occupied and settled with Israelis as part of the Zionist dream of a Greater Israel.
Getting rid of Hamas is only part of the Israeli plan. Israel knows that while any Palestinian remains in the Gaza it will never know peace. Even if Hamas is seemingly totally destroyed in this war then it will arise again in the same form or some other form within months and Israel will need to start its war all over again with the Palestinian people.
As has now been revealed by the Sydney Morning Herald, the claim by Israel that it merely wants to stop the rockets and mortars from being launched from the Gaza is simple propaganda providing the excuse Israel needed to launch their attack.
Since the attack started all of Israel’s propaganda lies have been exposed. The claim that it was Hamas that broke the ceasefire dashed all Israeli credibility when it was seen as a blatant lie by the rest of the world who were well aware of Israel’s unprovoked attack on the Gaza on 4 November 2008 which resulted in the deaths of six Palestinians.
Unfortunately, McGeough has only touched on the full geo-political reality of Israel’s intentions for the Gaza.
He asks: “But how would Israel fill a post-Hamas vacuum?”
He infers that the West Bank President Abbas may be considered since it is the current Israeli government and Washington that is propping up his regime in the West Bank. However, McGeough is well aware of Abbas’s shortcomings and suggests that the suffering Palestinians will blame the Israelis for their suffering and not Hamas and that the Gazan people are not likely to turn to Abbas and his Fatah faction for a way out of their suffering. Besides, while Abbas may be on friendly terms with the current Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, it should be remembered that Abbas is as much despised by the right-wing Zionists as Hamas is and it would seem that the right-wing Zionists of Israel stand quite a reasonable chance of gaining power at the next Israeli elections scheduled for February this year. In the event of a Likud win at the elections and Netanyahu becoming the next Israeli Prime Minister, Palestinians can kiss any notion of a full and proper sovereign Palestinian state goodbye as Netanyahu has made quite clear both in the past and recently.
While some in the mainstream media are slowly chipping away at the Israeli propaganda and rhetoric to reveal the truth about the geo-political reality of Israel’s intentions, there is still along way to go before those intentions become entirely revealed to the people of the Western world.
The Zionists of Israel are astute enough to realise that they are unable to move too quickly toward their goal of a Greater Israel that includes all of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. In the past they have always needed to have a casus belli, real or otherwise, before moving forward. Today their lies have become increasingly transparent but for the Israelis it is not so much a matter of convincing the people of the world that what they are doing is justified but convincing the Western governments that what they are doing is justified. So far, the peoples of the world have seen through their lies; now the governments of those peoples must also be shown that they are indeed lies and that Israel again has hoodwinked the governments of the world.
UPDATE
For some insight into the extent of Islamaphobia, racism and ability to lie and deceive on behalf of Israel that exists in other sections of Australian mainstream media, not unsurprisingly, that owned by Rupert Murdoch, one needs only to take a look at the blog of Australia’s foremost racist and purveyor of hate, the columnist Piers Akerman of Sydney’s Daily Telegraph. This frothing at the mouth neoconservative hate and warmongering lunatic actually believes that there is a Fifth Column of Islamic extremists in Australia bent on ousting the Australian government and installing an Islamic government with Shria law! If it wasn't for the fact that he works in the Australian mainstream media he'd be a joke. But then, he does work for Murdoch.
Here you’ll find the same old lies and propaganda that he’s been instructed to publish and that we’ve already heard about from the Israelis and you’ll also find his faithful racist bloggies responding in chorus with very little dissent to his views being published.

WORLD DEMONSTRATES AGAINST ZIONIST INVASION OF GAZA BUT WESTERN GOVERNMENTS IGNORE THEIR PEOPLES.
There have been demonstrations the world over including thousands of Israelis in Tel Aviv demonstrating against the war. Tens of thousands have protested in London hurling thousands of shoes toward the Prime Ministers government residence at Downing Street. Even in Houston, Texas, hundreds turned out at the Israeli Consulate to protest the war against the Gazans.
But, despite the protests from the peoples of the world, Western governments have largely ignored the calls from their peoples to demand that their governments in turn demand an end to the carnage. While President George W. Bush has cynically expressed concern over the humanitarian situation in the Gaza, he has had no objection to the Israeli bombardment and invasion that has caused that humanitarian situation.
UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has done little except to phone Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to ask him to cease operations in the Gaza and say that ‘moderation must prevail’. Other than that; no pressure at all on the Israelis. In Australia thousands have gathered in Melbourne and elsewhere in state capitals to protest the carnage in the Gaza but the acting Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, has ‘refused to criticise Israel’s campaign in Gaza’ and has only expressed concern ‘as the number of casualties continue to rise’.
Western governments have seen this carnage brewing for months yet did nothing even as it reached a crescendo culminating when the Israelis launched their attacks against the defenceless Gazan people. It has been plain for all to see that the mainly ineffectual rocket and mortar attacks against Israel were as a result of the frustration the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were experiencing as a direct result of the ghettoising and strangulation of the enclave by an Israel that still covets that land for itself. Yet the Western governments did nothing to relieve the humanitarian crisis that has been growing ever since Hamas ousted the corrupt Fatah from control of the Gaza.
The Western governments, together with many Middle East governments, have effectively turned a blind eye to this horrendous Israeli aggression and war crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza. I have warned on this blog for years that disasters like this that are caused by Zionist long-term nationalist and expansionist policies could be the precursor to far greater horrors as the Israeli Zionists and their supporters take another step closer to their Final Confrontation with their ultimate enemy Iran.
How long will it be before the Israelis again decide its time for another attempt to destroy Hezbollah and then Syria and, ultimately, Iran? And, with America wrapped around its little finger, will the US have any other choice but to join Israel in the Final Confrontation?

THE DR. GOEBBELS OF ISRAELI PROPAGANDA UNLEASHES LIES AND DECEIT.
The Dr. Goebbels of Israeli propaganda, Yardin Vatikai, chief of the Israeli Zionist’s propaganda office known as the National Information Directorate (NID), has his work cut out as he attempts to justify and lie Israel’s way out of accusations by the people of the world that Israel is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
The NID was set up at the same time as the planning began for the current operation against the Gaza Strip. It was created specifically to counter the accusations of war crimes that were levelled at Israel after the Second Lebanon War when Israel was accused of the war crime of disproportionate attacks against the Lebanese people in the 2006 war against Hezbollah. However, Israel’s attempt to counter such accusations have failed as far as the UN is concerned who have again condemned Israel for their disproportionate bombing this time in the Gaza.
Israel’s attack against the Gazan people was also timed to coincide with the Western worlds Christmas and New Year period, a time when many people are pre-occupied with seasonal festivities and annual holidays. The planners knew that an attack during this period would limit the public outcry against the assault and by the time public opinion could be organised to protest further Israeli aggression against the Gaza the operation would be considered fait accompli by protestors.
In other areas of Israeli propaganda there has been some success. Western governments have failed to condemn Israeli aggression and have accepted the Israeli propaganda of Hamas having provoked the attack by their continued bombardment of Israel with rockets and mortars. Not mentioned, of course, is the reason that Gazan resistance fighters have launched such attacks, most of which are entirely ineffectual, and that is in response to Israel’s continued squeezing and ghettoising of the Gaza Strip. However, Israeli propaganda has failed miserably in the eyes of most ordinary people throughout the world who able to see the transparency of Israeli lies. Contrary to Israeli lies that Hamas broke the ceasefire, a claim echoed by the US, the people of the world are well aware of the reality that it was Israel that broke the ceasefire when it raided the Gaza on 5 November 2008 and killed six Hamas operatives.
To help counter international outrage against Israeli aggression the NID has spared no effort in enlisting the support of the many international Israeli support and lobby groups particularly in the US. Even the social networking site Facebook has been used to spread Israeli propaganda.
But Zionist Israeli propagandists and their supporters are not getting everything their own way. Israelis and Diaspora Jews throughout the world have voiced their outrage against the Israeli attacks against the Gazan people, and independent news media and bloggers around the world are also doing their best to counter the outrageous Israeli propaganda and spin.

THE GEO-POLITICAL REALITY OF THE ISRAEL ATTACK ON THE GAZA VERSUS THE PROPAGANDA AND RHETORIC.
There has been much speculation in the media over how the Israelis are ultimately going to end the stand-off with Hamas. The bottom line, however, is this: While any Palestinians remain in the Gaza Strip deprived of their freedom to work and trade with their neighbours, no matter who they are, or are dominated in any way by the Israelis, then Israel will never know peace and there will always be a Hamas or some other organisation that will resist Israel.
If there was a ceasefire now then Israel would not have achieved even their basic war aim which is to destroy Hamas. Within months Hamas will have rebuilt itself finding willing recruits among the survivors of the current onslaught and soon the Israelis will be yet again on the receiving end of more rockets and mortars. The Israelis will have found themselves in the same situation as they did after the Second Lebanon War – the ultimate losers having succeeded only in destroying infrastructure, homes and offices together with the deaths of several hundred activists out of tens of thousands, and demonstrating to the world who the true terrorists are in the Middle East – yet again.
Having come this far in their war against the Palestinian people – and make no mistake, this is a war against the Palestinian people, not just Hamas – the Israelis will now need to invade and occupy the Gaza Strip. In doing so there will be even greater carnage and slaughter of Palestinians and, of course, many of Israel’s young men, filled with the propaganda of hate by their Zionist mentors, are also likely to perish in such an event. While the Bush administration has stopped short of endorsing an Israeli invasion and occupation of the Gaza it has not suggested that Israel does not and says that Israeli should do whatever it needs to do to for its own self-defence. From other US quarters, however, there is support for an Israeli invasion of the Gaza. And, if the Israelis do invade, the US is hardly likely to withhold weapons, fuel and spare aircraft engines from Israel.
The Israeli and neocon propaganda of Israel having ‘withdrawn’ from the Gaza Strip and that it is no longer ‘occupied’ and inferring that it no longer has any territorial interest in the Gaza is just that – propaganda. Right-wing Zionists and their political parties will never give up their dream of a Greater Israel that includes all of the Gaza. The Gazan people are Palestinian people. Palestine is still occupied and Gazan Palestinians are resisting all occupation; not just Gazan occupation. Israeli pedantic propaganda aside, one should also bear in mind that it is Israel that has complete control over the people of the Gaza Strip in terms of quality of life. The Gaza Strip is as much under the control of the Israelis as the Warsaw Ghetto was under the control of the Nazis during the Second World War. It has the capacity to squeeze or destroy it at will.
The Palestinian rocket and mortar attacks have been as a direct result of deliberately planned and manipulated Israeli provocation and has been achieved by denying the Gazan’s the right to be governed by a government that was elected by them, denying them of the freedom to come and go from the Gaza Strip whenever they wish, denying them the right to trade with whom ever they wish, by denying them the right to access international waters via their own territorial waters, and by denying them of their ability to grow enough food of their own by squeezing the importation of fertilisers and destroying their productive lands. Israel has also provoked Palestinian action against Israel by murdering Palestinian leaders and indiscriminately killing Palestinian civilians as they murder their targets. Israel has also deliberately bombed targets that were not military including mosques that they claimed were being used by ‘terrorists’ and trucks they claimed were shifting rockets but were instead only transporting gas cylinders.
The Israeli endgame has only just begun and it will not stop at the Gaza. Hezbollah in the eyes of the Zionists still has to be dealt with. Fatah, despite the rapport its leader, Palestinian President Abbas has with the outgoing Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, is as much despised by the right-wing Zionists as Hamas and Hezbollah. The coming elections in Israel could well see the ultra right-wing Zionist Benjamin Netanyahu become the next Prime Minister of Israel who still sees Iran and its so-called ‘nuclear weapons program’ as unfinished business.
The Final Confrontation is only just beginning.
