IS THE ETHNIC CLEANSING OF THE GAZA ABOUT TO BEGIN?

The Gaza Strip has now been almost completely isolated since Hamas decisively won its battle to wrestle control from Fatah on the strip. While the world is being told by the western mainstream media the big lie about the ‘Hamas coup’ in the Gaza, ignoring entirely the fact that it was Hamas that won the Palestinian elections of January 2006, elements of the Israeli government are already pushing for the transfer of the ordinary Gazan people to the West Bank under the guise of calling them refugees. The Israeli Justice Minister, Daniel Friedmann, is already calling for the Israeli government to allow Gazan residents to flee to the West Bank.

Life in the Gaza was bad enough before the fighting between Fatah and Hamas got under way with the help of the Israelis, the Saudis and Elliot Abrams in the Bush administration but now it is likely to get worse as they bunker down in readiness for the expected Israeli invasion as they go after Hamas. Already the Israelis are cutting off fuel supplies and the Fatah-dominated government in the West Bank are unlikely to be releasing any funds that are now to be released to them by the Israelis, to Hamas in the Gaza.

Clearing away the rhetoric and propaganda of how Hamas has unexpectedly ‘won’ the battle in the Gaza in a ‘coup’ and, as a result, has ‘created another headache for Israel’, the geo-political reality is that Hamas has played directly into the hands of the Israelis to the point where it would be a fairly safe bet to assume that Fatah in the Gaza was ‘sacrificed’ in order to isolate Hamas so that the process of both destroying Hamas and the transfer of the Gazan people can begin with the ultimate goal of Israel annexing the Gaza after it had been ‘abandoned’ by its people.

The world needs to act and act now before disaster strikes the Palestinian people of the Gaza.

My guess is that by "ordinary Gazans" you meant "non-murderers".

I doubt that this the Israeli goal. It would be more beneficial to the Israeli propaganda effort to have the odd rocket coming out of Auschwitz on the Med while they set about transferring the 1.2 million arab Israeli citizens out, solidifying the long term plan to ethnically cleanse South Lebanon to the Litani and making war with Syria to ensure that the Golan remains in Eretz Y'Israel.

The world will do nothing, the zionists will clog up the internet and the media with multilayered propaganda and fly paper politics and if it all goes badly, they'll nuke Iran via King George of Crawford.

And Kevin Rudd will cheer them on.

I wonder whether you might comment on the HAMAS charter. Interesting stuff there about global government in the "muslim brotherhood" style and threats to the rotarians and lions clubs. Not to mention the rejection of ideas that are "western capitalist" or "eastern communist" an only an acceptance of those that are pan-islamist. I wonder whether you might comment on the rejection of peace meetings or agreements or the dedication to liberation of the whole of palestine by jihad only and islamic rule as the only option. What would you suggest as a negotiating position from the Israeli side? Just want to know out of interest.

Mordechai,

You're wasting your breath with the Hamas Charter. For people like this, the Hamas Charter is the best thing since sliced bread because it talks about about destroying Israel and killing Jews.

G'day Damian, did you, like me, notice that the 'oafish and infantile' visiting to comment recently apparently can't read or at the least comprehend what is written a few simple paragraphs.

You point out that, using 'defeat' of the 'terrorists' of Hamas as the pretext, militarist Israelis call for measures that make innocent, non-combatant, clearly civilian Palestinians suffer and these dolts don't seem to see past the opportunity to mimic their heros - Timmy Blair and such. They're such a laughable lot.
They've become no more than demonisation drones vilifying a race (it is rightly labeled anti-semitism you know) by echoing the empty right wing propaganda that all Palestinians 'deserve' to suffer. Not one word us written by them in support or concern about the many thousand children, their mothers, fathers, grandparents who would in the majority be moderate, peace seeking, poor but proud people who voted, as was expected of them by the 'international community'. Not one word ... and it's because when they voted many of them did so to elect representatives the powers in 'democratic' nations decided could not now, nor ever, be allowed to move toward political rather than military means to secure the land and water rights of their compatriots. The drones just keep supporting one half of the problem, the extremists on the other side keep up their side of the fighting and the losers, the innocent caught in the middle, as always they're ignored by far too many of our right leaning citizenry ... and its because far to many of those on the right in our body politic have, unthinkingly I understand, leaned so much further right with all the reinforcement they receive in their little daily circlewank on Tim Blair's boring blog.

It’s a typical war mentality Craig. Even though they are not actually at war themselves, they fancy that they are because they’ve adopted a side to be on and therefore they, the Palestinians or Arabs or Islam or whoever they imagine their enemy to be, are collectively ‘the enemy’. It’s a bit like the mentality of, say, Britons during the First and Second World Wars; at the height of those wars, for them, the ‘only good German was a dead German’. Nothing’s changed. Civilians, old and young, are still the enemy so it doesn’t matter that they die. The Tim Blair mob are typical of that kind of (un)thinking.

G’day Damian, you are spot on. I must say the highlight (or lowlight depending on your perspective) was this comment by a cowardly anonymous character (I think it was toy soldier Craig Warton and I'll tell you why in a moment):

"Anonymous said...

hopefully they'll completely wipe themselves out, and we wont have send them money anymore."

See first the racial vilification, the vile anti-Semitism on display with the use of the term "the barbarians", then on seeing the correlated signal of poor educational attainment in the erroneous use of ‘alot’ and ‘their’ (when surely a sixth grader knows the contraction of 'they are' is 'they're) chuckle at this imbecile's unintended irony.

It is not so much his the use of 'hopefully', which conforms to the trend Don Watson correctly criticised, that signals loudly that the anonymous coward making that wrongheaded comment is Craig Warton as it is his ‘F’ standard in the English language. He just can’t help himself and once again makes that most common of his errors – the dunce is wont to use ‘wont’ when ‘won’t’ was the word required.

So spotting the cowardly Craig W behind the anonymous id is no great mystery to solve. The bigger mystery is how that barely literate, racist, anti-Semite ever passed muster in order to live out his toy soldier dream as a real one for some time.

Craig, this Warton character is the same bloke that claimed he knew a bloke that successfully flew an aircraft around an airfield circuit after having only had instruction in a flight simulator but no other actual flight experience. This is a claim he made at WD. I pointed out to him that in my forty odd years of flying experience that this was impossible. He nonetheless insisted that it was true. The bloke is quite delusional.
