In the early morning hours of last Saturday the IAF launched air strikes against targets in the Gaza Strip that killed a senior Hamas military leader. Ten other Palestinians were wounded in other strikes on the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government said that the strikes were in retaliation to a rocket attack against Israel.
The way the Israeli media and the West report these tit-for-tat strikes against each other is designed to deliberately mislead Israeli citizens and the West.
Israel always claim that they are acting only in retaliation to Palestinian attacks against Israel. This is not the case. Invariably Palestinians launch their weapons against Israel in response to Israeli attacks against them in the first place.
Not mentioned in the Israeli and Western media when these most recent tit-for-tat strikes against each other were reported is the attacks made by the Israelis against Palestinian farmers in the Gaza who were fired on by IDF forces near the border with Israel as the farmers were going about their work in the fields. In retaliation to being fired on by Israeli soldiers and Israeli tanks at the Israeli/Gaza border, Palestinian fighters launched rockets into Israel in a bid to deter further Israeli aggression against the Gazan people.
The Israelis are increasingly finding ways to provoke Gazans into launching more rockets into Israel. And, like they did in 2008//09 in Operation Cast Lead, they will eventually use this as a casus belli to launch an all-out attack against the Gaza Strip – and, when they do, this time around it will likely coincide with an Israeli attack against Hezbollah in Lebanon while both Israel and the US launch a full scale attack against Iran.
