THE U.S. AND THE FRENCH REJECT REALITY OVER IRANS SO-CALLED NUCLEAR AMBITIONS

The right-wing French government and the US government have rejected the report of Mohamad El Baradei, the head of the UNs nuclear watchdog organisation, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which has said that there is no evidence to suggest that Iran is developing nuclear weapons.

The problem with the French and the American’s rejection of the IAEA’s report is that neither the French nor the Americans have produced any evidence whatsoever to support their claim that Iran is developing weapons.

Just more propaganda and rhetoric from those that told us exactly the same stuff about Iraq as they are now trying to tell us about Iran.

Interesting to see the UK has closed its embassy in Azerbaijan because of security concerns while the U.S has cut back on embassy operations.

Whoops ... sorry make that because of "security concerns".

... because the Azerbijanis are saying they know of no reason why the UK and US diplomats should be concerned for their security in Baku.

Though I suppose we're meant to unthinkingly believe what Sean McCormak tells us:

"The Embassy took what they believe were appropriate steps in light of threat information, working very closely with the Government of Azerbaijan."

... and certainly not wonder why the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Khalaf Khalafov, knows of no "working closely with" having occurred!

As you know Craig, Azerbaijan is an extraordinarily complex nation mainly as a result of it geographical position. However the majority of its people are Shia Muslims who have a reasonably close affinity with the Shia of Iran that borders them to the south. Perhaps US and British fears stem from the possibility that there may be some kind of backlash against them from militant Shia groups in Azerbaijan if the US attacks Iran.
