Before the Iraq invasion the world was out on the streets imploring the leaders of our respective nations not to join the war against the Iraqi people; it made no difference.

Today we again should be out on the streets demanding this madness stops before it gets much worse as it surely will if the US/Israel attacks Iran. The tragedy is that our governments don’t listen to us anymore – not that they ever really did anyway – but now somehow protest seems even more futile than it ever did before.Damian Lataanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06886295381135372084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708970.post-79575386923022103822007-07-31T20:46:00.000+09:302007-07-31T20:46:00.000+09:30I fear you could be right, Damian, but the outcome...I fear you could be right, Damian, but the outcome will be catastrophic especially if nukes are used.

It amazes me how complacent most of the world is given this probable scenario. Then it amazes me how indifferent people are about American hegemony generally.

All that we who see can do is to keep sounding warnings. But so few are listening!

Cheers!Danielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02798600572745255535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708970.post-15971237128190646912007-07-30T09:26:00.000+09:302007-07-30T09:26:00.000+09:30Certainly not! The 'I blog for Palestine' logo is symbolic of my personal support generally for the Palestine cause rather than being indacative of this blog existing specifically for the Palestinian cause. My support for the Palestinian cause does not detract at all from objectivity within this debate or, indeed, any other.

I deal in the reality of history. The Palestinian people have had their lands stolen from them by Israeli Zionists who now occupy the Palestinian peoples lands. The process of ethnic cleansing is still continuing as it started in December 1947. These facts are simply facts that are indisputable; objectivity has nothing to do with it. Zionists will lie about these facts but then, of course, they are being subjective about it. I support the Palestinians because what the Zionists have done is morally wrong - I don't support them because they are Palestinians. Those that support the Zionists support them because invariably they are either Zionists themselves or have some other ulterior subjective motives for supporting them.

Why would you think that my personal support for the Palestinan people cause me to abandon my historians objectivity?Damian Lataanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06886295381135372084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708970.post-53369541207366035892007-07-30T06:04:00.000+09:302007-07-30T06:04:00.000+09:30With the addition of the 'I blog for Palestine' lo...With the addition of the 'I blog for Palestine' logo to your blog have you effectively signalled that you have abandoned the historian's objectivity in your comments on the Israel/Palestine debate?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
